NIGEL FARAGE HAS LABELLED THE HOUSE OF LORDS OF BEING ‘SCARED’ OF HIS NEW BREXIT PARTY.
The former UKIP boss won the European elecitons in 2014 and is hoping to do the same again on Thursday.
Farage has formed the Brexit Party and hopes to unite those on the right and left to deliver a WTO Brexit, something the Prime Minister is not currently proposing.
May’s Withdrawal Agreement Bill is set to be voted on next month by MPs.
The Hosue of Lords is taking drastic action to remove the rights of MEPs ahead of Farage’s expected victory.
The Lords have published a report calling for MEPs to have their Parliamentary passes revoked once new MEPs are elected.
Mr Farage told MailOnline: “Quite frankly given the current composition of the House of Lords, who would want to visit there anyway? I’ve been kicked out of better places than the House of Lords.
“They are obviously scared. Perhaps they think we will contaminate the building. We are carrying a virus – it’s called democracy.”
A Spokesmen for the Lords said: “The Commission is proposing to bring the House of Lords rules on MEP passes into line with those of the House of Commons.
“If agreed this would mean MEPs would no longer be able to apply for a parliamentary pass from the House of Lords. Currently only a very small number of MEPs hold passes.”
After Farage’s victory in the 2016 EU referednum, some called for him to be appointed a Lord, however, seeing as the UK has not left the European Union, I suspect Nigel has other things on his mind!
