‘NCIS’ Is Introducing a Controversial Guest Star Who’s Trying to Arrest Torres and McGee

Wilmer Valderrama and Sean Murray’s characters are in serious trouble.

After nearly a month away, NCIS is finally back! And it’s packing some serious drama in 2019.

In the upcoming season 16 episode, “Toil and Trouble,” Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his staff are getting some heat from United States Secretary of Defense Wynn Crawford (Mitch Pileggi). The video above shows a tense conversation between the pair, and the sneak peek photos from CBS suggest something even more serious.

According to the network’s preview, Agents McGee (Sean Murray) and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) may have done a little off-the-books cyber hacking while working on a murder investigation. This possible “felony” (eek) might be the reason Crawford is adamant that Gibbs shut down the case altogether—and Crawford even wants to arrest Torres and McGee for their actions.

To make matters worse, Crawford even tells Gibbs and Bishop (Emily Wickersham) to “add their badges to the growing pile,” which does not leave us feeling confident that things are going well for the group overall.

As many viewers know, though, Gibbs won’t give up without a fight. “Team Gibbs stand down? NOT A CHANCE,” one user said on Twitter.

Though it appears he’s not making the lives of the NCIS gang any easier, many fans are actually excited to see Mitch as a guest star on the crime series. Many quickly recognized him from his time on The X-Files as Walter Skinner, writing, “AD Skinner is the man,” and “Be prepared for #TheXFiles fans to flood your social media feeds!” Mitch has also starred in Transformers, Dallas, and even Blue Bloods.

To catch Mitch and all the NCIS drama, tune in Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
